With the crazy stuff the National Association of REALTORS is doing with trying to get local real estate boards to make the local REALTORS stop using the term MLS Search, what will consumers end up doing?
They will end up using third party websites which continue to use phrases such as New Jersey MLS Search, Or Morris County MLS Search, or even Morristown NJ MLS Search. How is this good for the consumer? it isn’t!! Who knows the local real estate markets? Is it these 3rd party companies who still will be able to use MLS in their advertising? No, for the most part these people have never even set foot in Morris County or New Jersey for that matter.
What the National Association of REALTORS seems to not understand is that to the public the term MLS is now a general term meaning, where the homes currently for sale are. Kind of like when people say that they are going to search for something on the internet they will say that they are going to Google it, does not seem to matter if they are actually going to Google, or if they are going to some other search engine.
OK, so here is my nod to the National Association of REALTORS, I am being a good guy today, can’t promise I will tomorrow.
If you are looking for a home in or around Morristown New Jersey, stop buy Morristown NJ Homes For Sale. There you will find all the homes currently for sale in Morristown New Jersey which are also listed in Multiple Listing Service, MLS. Hmm I guess I was bad after all. Sorry National Association of REALTORS.

Your right, having the Midtown Direct train line is so nice to have.

Yes, I can see this trend happening as well. I did not think about it until reading your write-up about it, but some of my friends do talk about moving back to the Summit area.

It’s such a generic term, I can’t for the life of me understand why they care so much. Don’t they have more important things to worry about?
